Welcome 5th Graders!
Poets enjoy a lot of freedom with what they can do with language. While you are creating your own poetry books, you'll also get to experiment with many fun forms of poetry as well. This website was created for you to review and view examples of the ideas that were introduced in class. Moreover, you can use the contents of this website as a helpful tool for writing your poetry books in class. You can learn about the parts that make up a poem, view examples of how to identify these parts, and see many different types of poems that you can create on your own.
To navigate through this site, simply click the yellow arrow at the bottom of each page. The arrow will take you to the next page of the website. Click the blue house on any page to return to here. Once you have seen all the pages, you can take the quiz to test your knowledge. Then, use the navigation bar underneath the "All About Poetry" banner to go to whichever page that you need to use to help you create your books. Look for blue boxes or blue words on each page for examples of the poems or terms. Happy Writing!
