Diamante
You might notice that the word diamante looks a lot like the word diamond. This is because the diamante poem is supposed to take the shape of a diamond (see the example on the left). First, pick two things that are, in some way, opposite of each other (for example, a whale is large and a ladybug is small!). Pick one to be your "subject" and one to be its "opposite." These two things will be the topic of your diamante poem. Then, follow the structure. Make sure to center your poem so that it forms the shape of a diamond!
